About Katrina
Here’s a fun fact: I studied music in college for 2 and a half years before deciding it was not a practical career path, and switching my major to psychology. Now I work in music!
I lead music at 2 local churches, I teach private lessons, and I direct several small choruses.
I have been singing in church and playing piano since I was 4 years old. Throughout my teen years, my family (my parents, 2 brothers, and myself) performed as a jazz combo at weddings, parties, and restaurants in Minnesota and beyond.
I have 2 decades of experience playing trumpet and 1 decade of guitar. I also enjoy developing my skills with ukulele, banjo, and harmonica. I spent several years providing musical experiences for residents in memory care and assisted living.
If I wasn’t passionate about the power of music, I wouldn’t be here. But I am also passionate about teaching — about your journey into music. Music develops persistence, creativity, memory, and analytical thinking. It can change your life, if you want it to. I can’t wait for us to get started.
